BOB RABBIT - HAITI, PT 1
Bob Rabbit has been traveling to Haiti for the past 4 years, teaching English, working with Haitian business owners, and working with Haitian music producers. For this LP, Bob used a small stereo Tascam recording he got from his friend Nick a few years back to build a quality repository of drum, vocal, ambience, and FX samples. He returned home and composed the majority of the music at Big Rob Studios in San Ramon, CA. Most tracks began with the samples he'd collected then bringing an old Roland workstation, a Gretsch big Rob got, the bass Bob was given during a tour with Something Like Seduction, piano, and vocals. He then sent out rough tracks to a handful of artists and the ones that made moves got the tracks. Additional mixing was done at Hyde Street Studios in San Francisco, CA with Will Chason from the hours of 2200 to 0400 prior to Bob's departure for the promise of Arizona. Bob Rabbit is the founder of Bob Rabbit Project, a non-profit working to provide talented musicians and other focused individuals in Haiti with quality computers and other necessary means of production.
